Born in September 1979 , Perez a Venezuelan tattoo artist specializing in black and gray realism and surrealism, is known for his ability to transform ideas into detailed and expressive works of art. With a career spanning over 15 countries and more than 10 international awards, he views tattooing as far more than body art—it is a medium to preserve cultural narratives.

Every design he creates tells a story, celebrating the interconnectedness of cultures through ink. Now exploring color realism, Perez continues to push the boundaries of his creativity. As a regular guest artist at Orpheus Tattoo Studio in New Jersey, he shares his passion and expertise with every piece he crafts.

Leo Pérez

Leo Pérez, born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1979, is a renowned tattoo artist with a deep passion for art and nature. Alongside his twin brother, Rafa Pérez, Leo spent his early years honing his skills in nursing and creating decorative gardens, experiences that cultivated his appreciation for detail and design. It wasn’t until 2010 that Leo discovered his true calling in tattooing, encouraged by his brother, who suggested they explore the world of tattoos together.

In 2010, Leo and Rafa co-founded Dolores Tattoo, a studio based in Valencia, Venezuela, which they successfully owned and operated for over a decade. The studio became a hub for innovation and artistry, attracting a community of talented individuals from around the world. During this time, Leo’s artistic journey was deeply inspired by the perfection of nature, which influenced his approach to tattooing.

As his passion for the craft grew, Leo found himself drawn to the bold and timeless aesthetics of American Traditionaltattooing, as well as the precision of fine line tattoos. His travels around the globe, meeting like-minded artists and enthusiasts, allowed him to refine his style and make a lasting impact on the international tattoo scene. His dedication to craftsmanship and his ability to capture the essence of traditional tattoos earned him recognition in the industry.

Now based in Barcelona, Spain, Leo continues to be a prominent figure in the tattoo world, regularly touring for conventions and guest spots across Europe and beyond. With a firm belief in the importance of preserving the roots of tattooing, Leo plays a key role in keeping American Traditionalstyle alive in Europe, while always pushing the boundaries of creativity and excellence in his art.
